KATHMANDU, March 11: ‘Everest Trekkers Fuel’, a packaged food items brand have been launched for the first time in Nepalese market. This packaged food brand is highly dedicated to the trekkers and mountaineers.
At a press conference organized on Saturday, Sirjan Simkhada, promoter of the packaged food, informed that the company is currently producing three types of packaged foods and would produce 20 types of food items including rice and pulses in recent future. He said that the food which was prepared using American technology by reducing 99 per cent water portion on it and packaged at a temperature of 40 degree centigrade would be eligible to be eaten for 15 years. He also mentioned that the packaged food was appropriate not only to tourists but also to security personnel, rescuers and commoners, as it could be easily carried and prepared.
Dipak Mahat, member of Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), stated that the packaged food would ease the problems faced by trekkers and mountaineers who need to travel carrying light items. He said that the packaged food would be 10 times lighter than the non-packaged foods having sufficient amount of protein and are chemical free and tasty.
The promoter of Great Himalayan Trail Adventure said that it took more than three years to prepare a food packaging machine. Similarly, Kumar Thapa, Vice President of Nepal Yog Association, said that everybody should help promoting the food arguing that it was appropriate to use mostly in the Himalayan region.
Likewise, President of National Association of Tourism Journalists (NATOJ) Shiva Adhikari Abiral, tourism entrepreneur Ganesh Simkhanda, former president of Tourist Guides Association of Nepal (TOURGAN) Bishnu Gyawali among others were present at the function.
