Langtang Region

Langtang Region lies just a few hour’s drive from the capital city of Nepal, Kathmandu (51 km north of Kathmandu Valley). Langtang Trek is a part of Langtang National Park inside the Langtang Region of Nepal, and needless to say, for anyone who’s an enthusiast of nature photography, a national park is heaven. And we’re not talking about just any national park, but the one that is among the richest protected areas in Nepal, with so many species of birds and animals. If you look hard enough, you’re sure to find animals like red pandas, Himalayan bears, blue sheep, and even snow leopards lying around. Comparatively, birds like the red-billed chough, the Himalayan pheasant, the snow crow, and so on can be more easily spotted than animals. Clicking on the photos of these creatures and including them in your Langtang Photos collection will be a great accomplishment.

There are several natural phenomena scattered around the Langtang Region. If you’re a trekking enthusiast and you’ve never tried the Langtang Region trek, then you’re missing out on a lot of things. It is one of those trekking destinations that defines trekking in Nepal. It is a balance of all the flavours that you can get on a trekking journey.

Due to the earthquake of 2015, the Langtang region was greatly affected. However, with the collective efforts of locals and the government, the area was rebuilt very quickly and proved to be one of the safest trekking destinations in Nepal after the earthquake. If you go to the Langtang region at present, especially on the Langtang trek after the earthquake, you can’t help but wonder that everything seems to have changed. The size of the crowd, mainly tourists, has doubled, even tripled, the facilities are updated, and everything appears bigger and better. Believe it or not, it’s all due to the earthquake.

Langtang Trek Nepal, which was once wiped off as a result of the earthquake, seems to have been revived to almost twice its original capacity with necromancy. So, today, the trek to Kyanjin Gompa, trekking around Langtang-Gosainkunda, and several other destinations in the Langtang region are completely safe.

Trekking in the Langtang Region follows the traditional Tamang villages and dense forest, viewing several snow-capped mountains. Enjoy a warm welcome and hospitality from native Tamang communities.
