This 5 days Escape to Bhutan tour is an short highlight of Bhutan. The tour gives you an instant glimpse of some major cities of Bhutan like Thimpu, Punakha and Paro. Visit the charming cities and witness culture, tradition and history to emerge yourself in this spiritual country. This trip includes a visit to Ta Dzong Museum, Rimpong Dzong with its wooden cantilevered bridge, Taktsang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest) in the Paro Valley, The National Memorial Chorten, 12th century Changangkha Temple, National Library exhibiting ancient scriptures in capital city Thimphu, crossing of Dochula Pass (3050m) with breathtaking Himalayan views, a journey into Punakha Valley featuring the Punakha Dzong and Chimi Lhakang, temple of the ‘Divine Madman’.
Welcome in Bhutan. Our representative will meet, greet and transfer you to capital city, Thimpu passing by Tamchog Lhakang iron bridge en route. Later visit Buddha Point Memorable Choden Traditional School of Arts & Crafts and Tashicho Dzong. Stroll around the city in the evening. Overnight at Hotel in Thimpu.
Drive from Thimpu to Punakha (85kms/02 Hours) via Dochula Pass (3050m/10010ft) where you can stop for excursion of grand 108 stupas. Later visit Punakha Dzong, the second oldest dzong in Bhutan lying in between Pho Chu and Mo Chu rivers, with rich Buddhist collections. Visit Chimmi Lakhang, a temple dedicated to the Devine Madman and a sacred place where people pray for children. Overnight at hotel in Punakha.
Drive from Punakha to Paro (125Kms/03hours). Later visit Paro Dzong to witness Bhutanese architecture and religious administrative centre. Visit Ta Dzong, ancient watchtower housing the National Museum. Next proceed to Kyichu Lhakhang, one of the oldest temple in Bhutan and finally if time permits, visit local farm house to enteract with locals and taste homemade wine.
Hike to Taktsang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest), a sacred temple hanging on the rocky cliff. From here one can get breathtaking view of Paro valley. Later move to the ruins of Drukgyel Dzong, built to commemorate Bhutan’s victory over the Tibetan invaders. If in good weather, you’ll see a great distant view of Mt. Chomolhari.
After breakfast drive to Paro Airport to board your flight to onward destination.
