The sick world needs the enlightenment of Buddha

The world is terribly sick and every creature in this world is seeking only one medicine which is peace. Do you know who was Gautam Buddha and why he is ever remembered by a human being? It’s very easy to answer that he is none other than the founder of the peace who was born in a fertile and holy land, NEPAL.

Buddha Jayanti is a special day for not only the Buddhist religion, well known for the Birthday of Lord Buddha but also to all the religions of the world who believe in peace. However, Nepal is a secular country with no doubts of discrimination against other religions to celebrate the Buddha Jayanti, as both religion Hindus and Buddhists enjoy the Lord Buddha Day. Buddhism is treated more as a philosophy rather than a common religion. On this day people celebrate the life of Lord Buddha and his Birth with Enlightenment and Mahaparinirvana (Death).

The Birthplace of Lord Buddha is Lumbini. Lumbini lies in the western part of the Terai region. Lord Buddha was well known as Prince Siddhartha (Buddha) and, Siddartha took seven steps towards the north and raised a finger in the air and it believed that “he was the supreme of the world and that was his final birth’. This happened in the beautiful Sal Grove, which is now the focal point of the Lumbini Garden area.

As per the beliefs, Maya Devi, the Queen of Shakya King Suddhodhana of Kapilvastu, gave birth to Prince Siddhartha while passing through the Lumbini Garden, on the day of “Vaisakha Poornima”, which is the full-moon day of May in 623 BC. The Queen is believed to have taken a bath in Pushkarini (the Sacred Pond) and taken the support of a tree branch in anticipation of the delivery.
